" A shooting affair between Will Crockett And Loss Denton took Place atCarrollton, Tuesday which resulted in Crockett receiving a pistol shot inthe left forearm, the ball passing the two bones of the arm. A shot alsostruck Crockett's horse in the hip. Denton escaped unhurt. It seem thedifficulty came up through some effort Crockett was making to arrestyoung Vol Denton for some disturbance in the town."

The first old-time horse-drawn stage was started in 1878, inBerryville. George Reynolds , who at the time lived north of Carrollton,was the first driver. Tiff rode from Carrollton to Harrison on thisstage. The stage rented a pair of mules from Ike Graves. They shiftedteams at Carrollton And Berryville. Walter Markley robbed this stage atone time, back of the Farris Orchard.
