7. Col. Tilford² Denton (Capt. John¹) was born in Warren Co., Tennessee November 22, 1817. Tilford died August 18, 1896 in Alpena BooneCo, Arkansas, at age 78.

He married Mary Sneed November 1848 in Carroll Co., Arkansas. Mary was born April 16, 1830 in Osage, Arkansas. Mary was the daughter of Charles Sneed and Jane Coker. Mary died March 25, 1907 in Apena Boone Co, Arkansas, at age 76.

Col. Tilford Denton and Mary Sneed had the following children:

+ 8 i. William French³ Denton was born September 8, 1849.

9 ii. Seborn Sneed Denton was born in Carrollton, Carroll Co. Ark. March 1, 1851. Seborn died June 23, 1931 in Omaha, Boone Co. Ark., at age 80. He married Minnie Jay December 27, 1877 in Harrison, Boone Co. Ark.. Minnie was born December 12, 1859. Minnie died 1941 in Omaha, Boone Co. Ark., at age 81.

10 iii. Jane Denton was born in Carrollton, Carroll Co. Ark December 10, 1852. Jane died June 27, 1872 in Carrollton, Carroll Co. Ark., at age 19.

11 iv. Elizabeth 'lizzie' Denton was born in Carrollton, Carroll Co. Ark. September 17, 1854. Elizabeth died May 15, 1877 in Carrollton, Carroll Co. Ark., at age 22. She married John H.,m.d. Molloy October 27, 1873 in Carroll Co. Ark.. John was born April 6, 1845. John died July 14, 1915 in Berryville, Carroll Co. Ark., at age 70.

12 v. John Rosson 'ross' Denton was born in Carrollton, Carroll Co. Ark. March 5, 1856. John died January 27, 1934 in Harrison, Boone Co. Ark., at age 77. He married Mary Catherine 'molly' White March 5, 1885 in Harrison, Boone Co. Ark.. Mary was born January 16, 1864 in Parker Co. Tex.. Mary died January 29, 1944 in Hutchinson, Madison Co. Ark., at age 80.

13 vi. Tilford (jr.) Denton was born in Carrollton, Carroll February 19, 1858. Tilford died October 18, 1863 in Carrollton, Carroll, at age 5.

14 vii. Kiziah 'kizzie' Denton was born in Carrollton, Carroll January 5, 1860. Kiziah died September 8, 1878 in Harrison, Boone, at age 18.

15 viii. Robert E. Lee Denton was born in Carrollton, Carroll May 11, 1864. Robert died March 31, 1880 in Carrollton, Carroll, at age 15.

16 ix. Charles Sneed Denton was born in Carrollton, Carroll Co. July 17, 1867. Charles died July 16, 1941 in Rush Springs, at age 73. He married Myrtle Edmond Lee Gibson May 28, 1888. Myrtle was born April 28, 1867 in Cincinnati, Wash. Co. Ark.. Myrtle died December 18, 1955 in Rush Springs, at age 88.

17 x. Hugh Lawson 'Loss' Denton was born in Carrollton, Carroll Co. October 3, 1869. Hugh died September 20, 1949 in Cleveland, at age 79. He married Martha Jane 'Mattie' Reynolds March 2, 1890 in Harrison, Boone Co.. Martha was born July 5, 1870. Martha died February 24, 1957 in Cleveland, at age 86.

+ 18 xi. Volney 'Vol' Walker Denton was born November 9, 1872.
