1. Lewis¹ Davis was born 1804. Lewis died 1864 in Henry Co., Tenn., at age 60.

He married Margaret 'Peggy' Hastings 1828. Margaret was born 1808. Margaret was the daughter of Henry Hastings and Martha Patsey Mcdaniel. Margaret died 1874 in Paris, Henry Co., Tenn., at age 66.

Lewis Davis and Margaret 'Peggy' Hastings had the following children:

2 i. Martha² Davis was born in Henry Co., Tennessee October 13, 1829. Martha died September 12, 1910 in Vienna, Illinois, at age 80. She married Charles Smith Redden June 6, 1848 in Henry Co., Tennessee. Charles was born June 26, 1823 in Henry Co., Tennessee. Charles was the son of James Redden and Mildred 'Milly' Murrey,Murrie. Charles died September 12, 1906 in Weatherford, Oklahoma, at age 83. (See Charles Smith Redden for the continuation of this line.)

3 ii. Elbert Eldridge Davis was born 1832. Elbert died February 27, 1877 at age 44. He married Mary Elizabeth Moody August 24, 1854. Mary was born January 22, 1836. Mary died May 5, 1908 at age 72.

4 iii. Mary Ann Davis was born 1835. Mary died 1917 at age 82. She married twice. She married Pinckney S. Pierce January 26, 1853 in Henry Co., Tenn.. Pinckney was born date unknown. She married Marcus S. Roscoe September 17, 1858 in Henry Co., Tenn.. Marcus was born date unknown.

5 iv. Margaret E. Davis was born September 2, 1839. Margaret died July 1, 1913 at age 73. She married James T. Jenkins December 18, 1856 in Henry Co., Tenn.. James was born November 8, 1827. James died April 14, 1915 at age 87.
